Suspension & Handling, at your driveway.

Suspension is where I spend most of my week anyway. Struts, control arms, sway bar links: the same hardware your coilover kit replaces is the hardware I am already pulling out of cars across Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke. The difference with a mod install is only that the part going in is the one you chose.

Two honest things before you book. First, Ontario road salt is real: on a car that has seen a few winters, the strut-to-knuckle bolts and top hat nuts fight back, so my quote includes a stated rust buffer instead of a surprise phone call mid-job. Second, any change to ride height moves your alignment. I set the toe straight enough to drive calmly, then you book a proper alignment within the week. I will not pretend a driveway toe set replaces the rack.

Every install, one flat price.

InstallFlat labourTimeThe details
Coilovers (full kit)$400–$6502.5 to 4hThe flagship. Kits arrive assembled, ready to go on. Rust buffer stated in the quote, not sprung on you.
Lowering springs on stock struts$450–$7003 to 4.5hMore labour than coilovers because your struts come apart to take the new springs.
Performance shocks and struts (Bilstein B8, Koni)$400–$6502.5 to 4hSame motions as the OEM strut jobs I do every week, with a better part in the box.
Camber plates or adjustable top hats$60–$120add 0.5hPriced as an add-on to a coilover install, when the strut is already out.
Adjustable camber and toe arms$150–$3001 to 2hThe natural partner to any drop, so the alignment shop has something to work with.
Aftermarket control arms$200–$4001.5 to 3hDaily repair work for me. Poly or upgraded bushings already pressed in the arm you bought.
Rear sway bar$100–$2001hSmall job, big change in how the car rotates.
Front sway barQuote per car1.5 to 3hSome cars need the subframe dropped to sneak the bar out. Send the car and the bar, I quote it straight.
Sway bar end links$80–$1500.5 to 1hAdd them to any suspension visit.
Strut tower brace$50–$1000.5hQuick add-on.
Chassis and subframe braces$80–$2000.5 to 1.5hBolt-on stiffness, no drama.
Subframe collars and inserts$100–$2001 to 1.5hTightens up shifter and rear-end slop on a lot of platforms.
Bolt-in poly bushingsQuote per carvariesBolt-in styles yes. Bushings that need a hydraulic press get a straight no instead of a bodged job.
Leveling kit (trucks and SUVs)$250–$4502 to 3hThe classic truck first mod.
Lift kit, 2 to 3 inchesQuote per car4 to 6hWe talk height, alignment and what stays street-legal first. Bigger lifts I pass on.
Traction bars and shackles (trucks)Quote per carvariesPer truck.
Air suspension (bags and management)Quote per cara full day plusLines, compressor, tank and wiring. A serious install that gets a serious, itemized quote.

Every price is flat install labour, you supply the part, and the number for your exact car is agreed before any work starts. "Quote per car" means the platform honestly decides the price, send the link and the car and you get the number the same day. Planning more than one? Stack your list in the estimator and see the running total. Prices also live in the open dataset mods-install-rates.json.

Where I draw the line: Chopped springs and setups I judge unsafe get a straight no, with the reason. If the kit you are eyeing is junk, I say so before you spend, not after.

Questions people actually ask.

  • Do I need an alignment after coilovers or springs?

Yes, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. Changing ride height changes toe and camber. I set the toe by measurement so the car drives calmly off the driveway, then you book a proper four-wheel alignment within the week. Budget it as part of the mod.

  • My car has rust. Will that be a problem?

It is Ontario, so I plan for it instead of acting surprised. The quote carries a stated buffer for seized hardware, and I bring the penetrating oil, the impact and the patience. In the rare case a bolt genuinely will not move without equipment I do not carry, we stop and talk before anything gets destructive.

  • Can you corner-balance or set my coilovers up?

I set the ride height you ask for, evenly, and preload correctly, which is what street cars actually need. True corner balancing needs scales and a flat pad, and I say so rather than faking it. For a street build, even heights, correct preload and a real alignment get you 95 percent of the result.
