1. Who this covers, and when it starts
It covers the person who paid for the job, on the vehicle the job was done on. It starts the day the work is finished and the written record is handed over, and it runs for 90 days or 5,000 km, whichever comes first.
It applies to work quoted on or after 17 August 2026, the date this version was published. If you had work done before that and something's wrong with it, text me anyway. I've always come back for my own work and I'm not going to start hiding behind a publication date.
2. What's covered
- My labour. If the repair I quoted and installed didn't fix the complaint it was meant to fix, or something I installed comes loose, leaks, or fails, I come back and diagnose it at no charge to you.
- Redoing the work. If it's my workmanship, I redo it. You don't pay labour twice.
- Parts I supplied and installed. Those carry their manufacturer's warranty. Inside these 90 days, I handle the replacement part and I fit it without charging you labour again.
- Coming back to you. No travel or call-out charge to return to the same address inside my service area. Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke. You never had to drive anywhere to get the work done, so you don't have to drive anywhere to get it looked at.
- A straight answer either way. If I look at it and it turns out not to be my work, you get told what it actually is. No diagnostic charge for finding that out.
3. What isn't covered
Read this now rather than argue about it later. These limits are what make the rest of the page believable, a warranty with no exclusions is a warranty nobody intends to honour.
- A part you supplied. I'll happily install your own part and you pay a labour-only flat price for it. But I can't warranty a component I didn't buy and can't vouch for. If your part fails or turns out to be wrong for the car, that's the part, not my labour. I'll tell you if I think it's wrong before it goes on.
- Faults I didn't touch. A brake job doesn't cover an alternator. The warranty follows the work that was done, not the whole vehicle.
- Normal wear consumed in service. Pads, fluids, filters and belts do their job by wearing out. Wearing out on schedule isn't a failure.
- Work I recommended in writing and you declined. Your car, your call, completely fine. But if the thing I flagged is what later gives out, that isn't a claim.
- Driving on after I told you to stop. If I tell you a car isn't safe to drive, it goes in the written record. Damage caused by driving it anyway is outside this warranty.
- A vehicle another mechanic has worked on since my visit. Once someone else has been in there, nobody can honestly say whose work failed, including me.
- Racing, track use, off-road use, or a vehicle that's been modified after my work.
- Consequential costs. This warranty covers the repair, my labour and the part. It doesn't extend to towing arranged by someone else, rentals, lost wages, or a shop bill you incurred elsewhere without telling me first. Text me before you spend money on my mistake and I'll deal with it.
4. How to claim it
Call or text me with the date of the job and what the car is doing. That's the entire process. There is no claim form, no service advisor, no ticket number, and no window between 9 and 5 that you have to arrange your life around.
Call or text 647-450-0406Include the vehicle, the date of the original job, and what it's doing now. I come back to the car at the same address, look at it, and tell you straight whether it's mine. If it is, I fix it. If it isn't, I tell you what it is.
5. Your written record is the proof
At the end of every job you get a written record: what was replaced, the exact parts that went on, and the flat price you paid. Keep it, that's the document this warranty runs from, and it's also how you check my parts policy held.
You also get the old parts handed to you before you pay, so you can see the wear with your own eyes rather than take my word for it.

6. The honest boundary
A warranty is only worth what the person behind it can actually deliver. So the other half of this is the list of jobs I refuse to take in a driveway at all, timing chains, clutches, head gaskets, internal engine work, transmission removal. No lift, no press, no machine shop, so no promises.
Turning those jobs away is what lets me stand behind everything I do take. Read what I don't do in a driveway →
7. Housekeeping
Cars With Fares is a sole proprietorship operated by Fares, serving Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke at the customer's own location. There's no shop to visit. I come to you.
I'm not HST-registered at my current volume, so quotes, invoices and this warranty carry no tax line. The flat price is the price.
This warranty is offered in addition to whatever rights you already have under Ontario consumer protection law, it doesn't replace or reduce them.
Version 1.0, published 17 August 2026. If I ever change these terms, the version and date at the top of this page change with them, and the new terms apply only to work quoted after that date. Terms you agreed to don't get edited underneath you.
Ready when you are.
Tell me what the car's doing and you get a price range on the spot, plus real time slots you can book yourself.
