Shifters & Drivetrain, at your driveway.

Nobody brags about shifter bushings on the internet, and then everybody who installs them says the same thing: why did I wait. This category is the quiet, high-satisfaction stuff. A short shifter with fresh bushings makes a tired manual feel new. The right fluid in a DSG or a rear diff changes how the whole car behaves, and on the euro platforms I work on constantly, those services are due more often than owners think.

The honest boundary: clutches, flywheels and differential swaps mean the transmission comes out, and that is hoist work, not driveway work. I say that plainly here so you are not sold a half-job. Everything listed below is genuinely doable at your place, done right.

Every install, one flat price.

Every price is flat install labour, you supply the part, and the number for your exact car is agreed before any work starts. "Quote per car" means the platform honestly decides the price, send the link and the car and you get the number the same day. Planning more than one? Stack your list in the estimator and see the running total. Prices also live in the open dataset mods-install-rates.json.

Where I draw the line: Clutches, flywheels, limited-slip installs and transmission swaps need the gearbox out, which needs a hoist and a full day. I turn those down rather than half-do them, and I will happily tell you what a fair shop price looks like.

Questions people actually ask.

  • Is a DSG service really worth it on a modified car?

More than almost anything else you can spend on. A tuned DSG is putting more torque through the same clutch packs and mechatronics, and fresh fluid at proper intervals is what keeps that unit alive. Every 60,000 km is the working rule, sooner if the car is tuned and driven like it. I do the full procedure at your driveway, with the fill done at the temperature the platform specifies.

  • Can you install my clutch if I bought one?

No, and I will not pretend otherwise. A clutch means the transmission comes out, which means a hoist, a trans jack and a full day. That is shop territory. What I can do is everything around it: fluids, shifter, bushings, axles, and an honest read on whether the clutch is actually the problem before you spend four figures.

  • My shifter feels vague. Bushings or a short shifter first?

Bushings first, every time. Half the vagueness in a high-kilometre manual is worn factory bushings, and fresh ones sometimes fix it completely for less money. If you still want a shorter throw after that, the short shifter goes in through the same access I already opened, which is why doing both together is the smart order.
