Calls may be missed while I am working. Call or send a written enquiry with your vehicle, symptoms and location. There is no guaranteed acknowledgement or arrival time. If you need immediate help, arrange appropriate emergency or roadside assistance rather than waiting for me.
A roadside enquiry does not mean I can repair the car on a highway shoulder or in traffic. We must confirm a safe, suitable work area first. Towing to a suitable location or a workshop may be necessary.
Battery, starter, charging and other starting faults need testing before parts are recommended. Repair timing depends on the cause and parts availability.
Describe what changed and where the car is. A warning light alone cannot establish whether it is safe to drive. Some faults require recovery to a workshop.
Describe the warning, fluid or change you noticed. Do not assume a slow leak is harmless or that topping up makes driving safe. Smoke or suspected fire needs emergency assistance.
Do not continue driving with a braking or steering problem that may make the car unsafe. Arrange suitable assistance and an assessment in a safe work area.
1. Send the details. Your car, symptoms and location, including access restrictions. Written enquiries receive the same assessment process; calling does not guarantee a faster response.
2. Confirm availability. An enquiry is not a dispatch instruction. Fares must confirm availability, parts and a suitable work area. Same-day work is subject to that confirmation. Do not wait for a reply in an unsafe situation.
3. Agree on the assessment charge. Ask what the visit and diagnosis will cost, including any travel charge, before arranging attendance. Do not assume an assessment is free if the car needs a tow or workshop.
4. Approve the repair separately. The cause and scope are confirmed before you approve a flat repair quote. Diagnosis can identify a problem that requires a workshop; it does not guarantee an on-site fix.
5. Confirm any change in writing. If timing or scope changes, ask for the revised arrangement before relying on a visit. Existing bookings are not automatically displaced by an urgent enquiry.
There is no blanket promise of a free visit or a discount if a repair does not resolve every symptom. Agree on the assessment scope and charge first. Any further work needs your approval. The written workmanship warranty explains repair coverage.
