What almost nobody in those towers has is a driveway. That's exactly the situation I'm built for. Heated-garage salt is worse than outdoor salt. Counter-intuitive but I see it constantly here. A car parked outside freezes, and frozen salt does less. A car that drives through slush and then sits in a warm parkade stays wet underneath for hours every night, so the corrosion just keeps working. Cars in these towers often look showroom-clean up top with rotors rusted solid and brake lines pitting underneath. If your car lives in a heated garage, the underside is the part worth actually looking at.
Leased SUVs and weekend-only cars. The mix around Kipling and Islington stations is newer leased compacts and crossovers. RAV4s, CR-Vs, Tucsons, plenty of German sedans, plus a real number of cars that only move on weekends because the subway, GO and MiWay all leave from one platform here. Those two groups bring me two jobs: warranty-adjacent maintenance done properly at the building, and batteries and seized brakes on cars that sit.
